Machines and Operations
With a modern and customized machine park, RD Tooling B.V. delivers extremely precise work at competitive prices. Efficiently arranged machines and systems form the basis for accurate and cost-effective production.
Advanced Machines, Maximum Results
Machines and Operations at the Highest Level
Thanks to forward thinking, we have grown into a modern toolmaking company with a highly automated and efficient production process. Where necessary, machines are even adapted or modified in-house to further optimize performance.
Our machine park consists of modern CAD-CAM systems and precise CNC machines, fully customized to our own working methods and interconnected. This significantly reduces the chance of errors and increases efficiency, allowing us to deliver high-quality tools at competitive prices.
Under the section ‘Machines and Operations’ you will find specifications that provide a clear overview of our technical capabilities and what we can do for you.
CNC Turning
With the available CNC lathe, complex contours can be turned. Thanks to a direct Ethernet connection to the company network, programs can be loaded directly from the network.
For various operations, routines have also been created that run directly on the machine. There is an extensive tool magazine available. Because nearly all cutting tools needed are kept in stock, lead times can be kept short.
There is also a robot function for material supply.
The CNC lathe can machine workpieces with a maximum size of Ø250 x 400 mm.
CNC Milling
With the available CNC milling machine, both 2D and 3D milling work can be performed.
Thanks to a direct Ethernet connection to the company network, programs can be loaded directly from the network. For various operations, routines have been created that run directly on the machine.
There is an extensive tool magazine available. Because nearly all cutting tools needed are kept in stock, lead times can be kept short.
The milling machine can mill workpieces with a maximum size of 1016 x 610 x 625 mm.
CNC Wire EDM Machine
The wire EDM machine is used to cut hardened metals. It can cut materials with a maximum height of 300 mm.
The machine has 5 axes and can be controlled simultaneously on 4 axes. This allows cutting contours where the top contour has a different geometry than the bottom contour.
The EDM working area measures 350 x 500 x 300 mm.
With this machine, final accuracies smaller than 0.01 mm can be achieved.
CNC Start Hole EDM Machine
Where needed, start holes are added with the digitally equipped start hole EDM machine.
This machine can create start holes ranging from 0.3 to 3 mm in diameter with depths up to 200 mm.

Hardening and Nitriding or Carburizing
When required, the base materials are treated to achieve the proper hardness for their intended use. To improve surface durability and resistance, we apply nitriding, which imparts ceramic-like properties to the surface of the product.
Most hardening processes are performed in-house using our dedicated hardening oven. This allows us to maintain strict quality control and significantly reduce lead times compared to outsourcing.
Our hardening oven can process tools and workpieces weighing up to 100 kilograms. The internal dimensions of the oven are 600 by 500 by 270 millimeters, accommodating a wide range of component sizes.
By controlling the entire hardening and nitriding process ourselves, we ensure consistent results that meet the highest standards for durability and performance.
Assembly and Other Processes
For the assembly of your tools and products, several operations are often necessary. We can perform the following operations:
Conventional turning
Conventional milling
Bench work
Thread tapping
Drilling/broaching
Surface grinding
Hardening
Sawing
Trial pressing
Automated Systems
CAD-CAM Systems Connected to CNC Machines
The existing CAD-CAM systems and CNC machines are fully coordinated and linked together. This greatly reduces the chance of errors and allows the machines to operate efficiently. Because of this, Hans can offer tools at competitive prices.
For designing, drafting, and programming, SolidWorks and AutoCAD are used. The files are sent directly from the computer to the machines.
Measuring Equipment
Of course, the toolmaking company is equipped with professional and reliable measuring instruments.
For example, there is a linear height measuring system on a flat plate with a reading accuracy of 0.0001 mm.
A roughness meter to measure surface roughness.
A hardness tester for the hardening process.
A very extensive set of hand measuring tools:
Digital calipers 0 – 250 mm with 0.001 mm accuracy
3-point internal micrometers from 10 – 175 mm
2-point internal micrometers from 10 – 350 mm
Pin gauge set from 0.1 – 10 mm, increasing by 0.01 and accurate to 0.001 mm
